DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS—HEALTH CARE FOR HOMELESS VETERANS
To provide outreach to homeless/at risk veterans in the Hill Country region including case management; referrals for VA and non-VA housing programs; and assessment for the HUD-VASH housing vouchers designated at Freedom’s Path Apartment Complex for low-income veterans.
Eligibility: Must have been honorably discharged from the US Military and eligible for enrollment for healthcare at VA Medical Center. Veteran must be homeless or at risk for homelessness or unstably housed.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
To provide a simple and decent place in which persons who qualify can live and grow into all that God intends for them to be. Habitat builds or renovates houses in partnership with families who qualify for homeownership based on three criteria: a need, a willingness to partner with HFH and an ability to repay a no-interest mortgage.

HOMELESS PREVENTION AND RE-HOUSING PROGRAM—KERRVILLE SALVATION ARMY
To provide through the Salvation Army assistance to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless with the goal of rapidly transitioning to housing stability, whether through their own means or links to community resources and mainstream benefits. Part of the program will also focus on assisting participants to develop a plan to prevent future instability.

MAGDALENE HOUSE KERRVILLE—MERCY GATE MINISTRIES (501c3)
To provide a residential community serving women who are survivors of trafficking, prostitution, addiction and abuse. Our 12-month plan (The Journey) offers a variety of curriculum as well as medical and psychological care on a case-by-case basis, all provided in a compassionate, Christian ‘home’ environment, where the emphasis is on healing and developing healthy relationships with ourselves, others and God through Jesus Christ. Mercy Gate Ministries is a family of professionals, volunteers and survivors who are passionate and committed to combating the evils of sex exploitation by breaking the bonds of captivity, imparting power over victimization and healing the hidden effects of this trauma.
